| Die Zeichnungen basieren auf militärischen Dienstvorschriften, Verschlüsselungs-handbüchern und Kodierungstabellen der ehemaligen Sowjetarmee, der US-Armee und ihrer Verbündeten. Diese Materialien waren als geheim eingestuft und wurden dadurch zu Zielen gegenseitiger Spionage bzw. Informationsbeschaffung. In den Sammlungen der Militärbibliothek Strausberg sind sowohl die Originale als auch die Duplikate der Geheimdienste zugänglich. Durch mehrmaliges Kopieren, Abfotografieren etc. sind die eigentlichen Inhalte oft kaum noch ablesbar. Dieser Zustand wurde durch die Zeichnungen festgehalten. | The drawings are based on military service regulations, encoding hand books and code tables of the former soviet army, the US army and their allies. These materials were classified as secret, that´s why the materials became a target of mutual spy activities. The collections of the German Military Library in Strausberg near Berlin contain now the originals of both sides as well as the results of the spy activities, mostly in shape of micro fiches. Because of multiple copying, duplicating, bad photographic development and fixation the content is today partially in unreadable condition. This condition is exactly fixed in the drawings. | |
